Ernie Perry, Ph.D.

Ernie Perry, Ph.D.

Senior Software Engineer

Dr. Perry has more than 23 years of experience in computer aided geometry related work and CAE software development. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in 1999 from Brigham Young University. Upon graduation Dr. Perry was a founding partner of Optimal Solutions Software LLC which developed Sculptor, an analysis mesh deformation tool used for advanced shape optimization. Dr. Perry has also worked as a structural analyst for FIBERTEK, a division of Alcoa Composites Inc. At FIBERTEK he performed finite element analysis of composite and steel structures used in railroad sleeper car interior structural components. Dr. Perry also designed the structural members for an aircraft flight simulator, and the simulator's six degree-of-freedom motion base for AlphaMation Inc. From 1989 to 1991, Dr. Perry worked at Graphica Computer Corp. in Tokyo, Japan where he developed a special meshing system for a radiosity light simulation software package, and later became a technical manager for a finite element analysis center and technical support team. Since 1997, Dr. Perry has been a part-time faculty member at Brigham Young University where he has taught various undergraduate courses in CAD design and Material Science and Engineering for the Department of Civil and Environment Engineering. Mr. Perry joined csimsoft in 2010 and is currently a senior engineer working on Capstone, a geometry creation and mesh generation toolkit for the Department of Defense.
